(Royal Crown Cola)RC was invented in 1905 by a young graduate pharmacist.Claude Hatcher.He began creating soft drinks in the basement of his family's wholesale grocery business.He put out Royal Crown Ginger Ale,Royal Crown Root Beer and Royal Crown Strawberry.He put out what would become Royal Crown Cola under the name Chero-Cola.Sales grew and in 1912 ,the company incorporated as the Chero-Cola Co..During World War I,there was a severe sugar shortage and in 1920 Chero-Cola began shipping  it's products to bottlers in the form of concentrates instead of syrup.The bottler would now be responsible for adding the cane sugar.This new process gave the drinks  a fresher taste.
In 1924,One of Royal Crown's most beloved lines of fruit flavors was created .Nehi Flavors..Nehi Flavors are now marketed internationally under the name Royal Crown Flavors with different flavors such as Kiwi Strawberry and Watermelon.Eventually the  company was renamed The Nehi Corporation.
In 1934,the company reformulated Chero-Cola.After six months,the new product was tested and the people loved it and called it " Pure,Delicious and Refreshing".The product was launced under the name Royal Crown Cola but people soon began to affectionately nickname it RC Cola and the name of the company was changed to the Royal Crown Company Inc.RC made with pure cane sugar is still being sold by Dan The Soda Man.Try it today! The Moxie Nerve Company gave us MOXIE..It was founded in MA in 1884.Some say,it was the first soft drink..Originally MOXIE NERVE MEDICINE was said to cure just about everything including loss of manhood,paralysis and even brain problems.

(Dr Pepper) Dan The Soda Man's beverage of choice was invented in 1885 by Charles Alderton a pharmacist at Morrison's Old Country Drug Store in Waco,TX..Alderton mixed together 23 different flavors..The patrons of Morrison's drug store soon fell in love with the drink and Morrison was soon selling syrup to other drug stores in TX..
Robert Lazenby began bottling Dr Pepper and the Original Formula is still being bottled today by Dublin Dr Pepper Bottling Company in Dublin,TX..The 1904 World's Fair Exposition in St Louis was the big break for Dr Pepper and bottlers sprang up all over the country.Today,if you look at a Dr Pepper bottle..you see the number 23 on the label..The 23 flavors that Charles Alderton mixed up to make Dr Pepper..Dan The Soda Man has Dublin Dr Pepper (The Original) and the new formula Dr Pepper which was introduced in the '60's both made with real cane sugar.Try The Doc!

(Vernors Ginger Ale) Our nation's oldest soda is Vernors.It was invented over 135 years ago.James Vernor started working at a drug store in Detroit in 1862 as a stock boy.He had mixed up ingredients in a cask in his basement which would become Vernors Ginger Ale.Right after this,he was called to duty in The Civil War.
When Mr Vernor came home in 1866,he noticed his cask in the basement and was ready to throw the liquid out when he tasted it and found a distinctively different taste.Mr Vernor became a pharmacist and bought his own drug store and began passing out samples to his drug store patrons..
By 1896,along with his son James Vernor II ,Mr. Vernor had enough funds to build a small plant on Woodward Avenue in Detroit near his drug store where he began  bottling Vernors in kegs to sell..The Vernors today is still aged in wood (according to current owner Cadbury-Schweppes).Dan The Soda Man has Vernors and Diet Vernors in 12 oz cans.We will have Vernors in 12 oz nostalgic glass bottles soon but it will be expensive as it is only bottled in Buena Park,CA which is a long way from our Michigan location.

(Pepsi Cola) Pepsi....Caleb Bradham of Chinquapin,NC bought a pharmacy in 1893 and started fooling around with various flavors .In 1896,he came up with a good mixture and started serving it to his soda fountain patrons.They loved it and named it Brad's Drink to honor Caleb.Caleb didn't like that name for the drink and named it Pepsi Cola.Dan The Soda Man sells Pepsi Cola in 12 oz glass bottles direct from Mexico made with real CANE SUGAR.
